A few days ago at Dubai Cosmetic Surgery, we had a client who came in for skin resurfacing as an anti-aging treatment in Dubai. During the consultation, she asked a very important question: if all anti-aging treatments work the same way and how she can be able to tell a better one from a good one.
The reason why this client was asking is because she had visited two different skin treatment specialists and each one had used different treatments for her skin resurfacing and wrinkle reduction sessions, which judging by her question, left her a little bit confused.
Due to her burning question and doubts, I decided to explain some of the different treatments for anti-aging, their superiority as well as their drawbacks.
This is an injectable that is used at Dubai Cosmetic Surgery to plump up the face and in the process get rid of wrinkles, deep facial lines and add volume to an aged face. In this category there are about four fillers which are FDA approved. These include Radiesse, Juvéderm, Artifill, and Perlane. Others are Restylane, Belotero, Sculptra and Collagen injections. Side effects for these fillers include tenderness, swelling, redness and numbness.
In cosmetic and aesthetic circles, CO2 fractional laser is known as the anti-aging breakthrough of the decade. By resurfacing your skin, it removes wrinkles without any downtime or complications brought on by the treatment. This form of laser resurfacing in Dubai uses tiny beams of light, which bear tiny holes in the skin and as a result stimulates collagen production. Results are accomplished in one or two sessions. Its major side effectsare swelling and redness, which can take up to 3 days to calm down.
Ultherapy in Dubai is a procedure that uses the power of ultrasound energy to firm and tone the skin. It is a fairly new procedure in the market, which happens to be the only FDA approved non-invasive treatment for tightening the skin on the face, brows, neck area and décolletage. A session takes between 30 minutes and 2 hours with no downtime, no scarring and no surgery. Some of the side effects include redness and temporary numbness.
Commonly known as Botox, this is a synthetic prescription medication used to get rid of wrinkles as well as rejuvenate the skin. Botox in Dubai is injected on site to remove frown lines, crow’s feet and worry lines. It works by relaxing the muscles on the area of injection so that they do not pull as hard on the skin. The side effects include a bit of redness and bruising on the area of injection.
This is a mixture of the above mentioned dermal fillers and botox. The results can last up to 2 years and the side effects are as mentioned – redness, swelling and tenderness.
It uses fine crystals rubbed on the face to remove dead or dying skin cells to smoothen the texture of the skin surface. It falls in the category of anti-aging skin cells because it helps with fine lines and wrinkles. Side effects include some swelling and redness.
