We all know that most of us consider the festive season a free pass to eating and filling up on anything and everything. Yes, it is a time to celebrate and be merry, then come the New Year; the first resolution on our list is to drop that pound or two that we packed on during the holidays, or maybe have a small liposuction.

Fill up before the party

It is always a bad idea to go to a party while you are hungry. There are people who, after knowing they have an event to go to, they decide to starve the entire day so that they can enjoy at the gathering. This is a complete no no if you want to maintain your weight. Before going to the party, it is advisable to eat some healthy foods so that you do not indulge when you get there. This way… you will cross to the next year in good shape.

Bring a healthy treat to the party

The best way to avoid eating something that is off limits to you is to bring your own healthy dish to the soiree. Do not stop exercising

Again, the holidays are not a free pass to letting yourself go. Relaxing a bit on what you are eating is one thing, but giving up on your exercising for an entire month or more in the name of festivities is another. Just in case you are too busy to keep up with your routine; you can reduce your exercising to 3 or 4 times a week instead of 6 or 7 times. Better yet, start your day with exercise, because then you will have it out of your way and free to keep up with your busy schedule. You will be surprised at what this can do.

Do not forget about water

Water is life, or so they say. This liquid plays a very huge role within your body, and not having enough can result in a lot of many things including constipation and bloating. By having enough water or water-rich foods, you will be able to flush out everything smoothly leaving you not only hydrated but weighing less.

Choose your food carefully

It is important to know what is being served at the party, or if it’s a buffet, take a walk around the buffet table so that you know what you will be having. If you just go in blindly serving all the food that is available, trust us, even your skinny jeans will have enough. Limit the food and eat more simply.
