Did you know that if you get a hair transplant surgery with Stem Cell FUE technique now at Dubai Cosmetic Surgery clinic, by next Christmas you will be celebrating the holidays with a head full of hair?
Yes, it’s true. This is because at Dubai Cosmetic Surgery, we have well trained, experienced, and board certified plastic surgeons who take it upon themselves to give you back your hair, and in return help you regain your confidence.
Here is what you need to know before gifting yourself this extraordinary gift:
How does hair transplantation work?
It all starts when the consultant and the surgeon identify how big your thinning/balding area is and how many hair grafts you will need to fill in the patch. After this, the donor area capacity is examined, which is at the back and sides of your head where hair is the thickest. If enough grafts can be harvested from your donor area, then the procedure is a go. At the Hair Transplant Room, the surgeon will harvest the hairs from the donor area and implant them on your thinning area. All this is done when you are very awake.
Which Hair transplant techniques are used?
At the moment we have three Hair Transplant techniques, which are:
- Stem Cell Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) – It is the latest hair transplant technique which is less invasive with less downtime, very minimal scarring and faster healing. It guarantees high hair density and gives natural and permanent results
- Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE): Is an advanced technique used for Hair Transplant that involves extracting hair follicles one by one, then relocating them to the thinning areas of the scalp.
- The Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT): Also known as the strip method, involves removal of follicles or grafts in the form of a linear strip from the donor area. This strip is then divided into small grafts under stereo-microscope before implanting into the bald or balding areas of the scalp.
How long does it take to recover after a hair transplant procedure?
Depending on which Hair Transplant technique you have opted for, the recovery period will be different. You will go home the same day as the procedure, and the following day you will be physically fine with a bit of discomfort. All procedures combined, you will need at least a downtime of between 3 and 4 days, but there are some cases that can take up to ONE week. We recommend that you give yourself at least 7 – 10 days to recover.
What is the Hair transplant procedure time?
Since it’s all a matter of how many grafts your balding area will need, the procedure takes different lengths of time. But to be clear, all the procedures start early in the morning, which means you can be finished by afternoon or evening.
Is the hair transplant procedure painful?
During the procedure, there is usually zero pain because the surgeon administers local anesthesia on both your donor and recipient areas. This will numb both areas. Afterwards when it wears off, you will feel a bit of discomfort, and depending on your pain threshold, you might choose to take something to sooth the discomfort or just let it be.
How long does it take for the transplanted hair to grow?
Just like in farming, when you plant seedlings, you have to be patient and wait for them to sprout then grow. This is why we insist that if you have the procedure this Festive Season, by next Christmas, you will be celebrating with a head full of hair. But to be precise, two months after the Hair Transplant procedure, your new hair will sprout and then this will continue at a rate of 10% to 15% per month. With each passing month, you will notice your mane getting thicker. At SIX months you will have approximately 70% growth. Although this will be encouraging, you will have to judge the results at NINE months to ONE year.
