Blepharoplasty for sagging eyelids

Eyes are considered the windows of the soul, reflecting the true nature of your sentiments. Eyes make up 50% of your personality since they are the first notable part of your face. Pretty eyes not only enhance your personality aesthetically but also cover up several physical flaws. Likewise, the poor and droopy eyelids give a dull impression of your persona, no matter how much young and bodily perfect you are.

Overtime eyelids begin to sag predominantly because of aging process whereas, obesity, physical injury, weight loss, and neurological disorders can also be the reason for the eyelids to slack. However, if you get bothered with the imperfect condition of your eyes then you must go for a cosmetic eyelid fixing procedure. For every cosmetic procedure you are not supposed to go under the knife. There are plenty of non-invasive procedures available, too and in this case, you can choose to undergo a non-surgical Blepharoplasty or Plexr Plasma Eyelift

What is Non-Surgical Blepharoplasty?

Non-surgical blepharoplasty, which is also called Plexr Plasma Eyelift, tends to sublimate the excess fat from your sagging eyelids by applying plasma on them through a special device known as Plexr. It not only corrects the eyelid sagginess non-surgically but also develops symmetry between both the eyes.

Let’s have a quick view on the process of non-surgical blepharoplasty.

The Procedure

The procedure for the non-surgical eyelift or Plexr Plasma Eyelift is quite simple and modern. It requires local or topical anesthesia to be administered before the procedure. Its time duration is forty minutes and is performed in an outpatient setting.

The procedure uses a specially designed device called Plexr and utilizes the principle of Sublimation to get performed. The plexr device creates dots on the eyelids, without causing any harm to the surrounding tissues. Plexr generates an atmospheric plasma that ablates the targeted tissue precisely through sublimation of the superficial skin cells. It also penetrates the deeper skin layers and gets it tightened. Plasma triggers collagen production, and hence skin rejuvenation also takes place.

Recovery

Since it is a non-surgical procedure, so the recovery time is also short. You should expect the following after the treatment.

  • It requires minimal downtime.
  • You will have swelling on the targeted area right after the procedure gets done, and it subsides in three to four days.
  • Your eyelids will have redness and tenderness, and it will continue for at least three days after the procedure.
  • Your eyelid skin will become crusted, and this condition ends up within a week of the procedure.
  • You should not go to work for a few days, and over the next 7 – 10 days, you will have follow-up appointments with the plastic surgeon to keep track of the healing process.
  • It is important to follow any guidelines or instructions given by the plastic surgeon for faster healing and to avoid complications or risks.

Aftercare

You need to follow the aftercare instructions given by your surgeon for fast healing and better results.

  •  You should use ice-packs and compresses to reduce swelling and discomfort.
  • You should use all the topical ointments on the affected areas recommended by your doctor.
  • For at least five days, you should avoid all the vigorous activities that could increase your heart rate and blood flow in your face.
  • You should save your skin from being exposed directly to the sun rays.
  • You should stay hydrated by drinking more and more water.
  • To fix the crusting, you should use camouflage makeup on the eyelids.
  • You will be able to return to your social life after four or five days of the treatment.

Risks

Non-surgical blepharoplasty includes various risks that need to be discussed with the plastic surgeon before the procedure takes place. The possible risks in the procedure are as follows;

  • Swelling on the eyelids can persist, and your surgeon will prescribe you steroids to get it settled.
  • A swollen reddish bump on the edge of an eyelid can occur, and ointments will be prescribed to get rid of it.
  • Sometimes, eyelid asymmetry is achieved when an equal amount of fat is not sublimated from both the eyelids.
  • The eyelid skin tone can become dark or light after the procedure. For this, you will require additional treatment to get it cured.
  • You might feel temporary numbness in the eyelid. But this settles down in a couple of weeks
  • The use of anesthesia might cause a lot of issues like allergic reactions, chest infection, and blood clot formation in legs.
