What are the best treatments for female hair loss?
Are there any at-home remedies people can try as well as in-salon treatments?
What is your advice to someone who thinks they may be suffering from female hair loss?
Treatment options for hair loss and balding include the following: Mesotherapy, Cell Therapy, Minoxidil Spray, Oral Supplements, Medicated Topical ointments.
At Dubai Cosmetic Surgery Clinic, our primary objective is to get to the root of the problem and understand the cause of hair loss/balding.
In many cases, the hair loss is of temporary nature such as post pregnancy, medication, severe stress, etc. In these cases, we normally start with a course of either Mesotherapy or Cell Therapy, both of which are designed to initially slow down and stop hair fall. As the treatment course progresses, significant improvement in thickness of hair is seen as new hair growth is stimulated.
Both Cell Therapy and Mesotherapy are designed to improve circulation of the scalp, provide added nutrients to the scalp such as growth factors, stem cells, vitamins, minerals, amino complex. A typical protocol for such treatments consists of 7 to 10 weekly sessions, followed by 7 to 10 bi-weekly sessions, then monthly maintenance sessions. Both therapies are considered minimally invasive and involve micro-injections of either Platelet Rich Plasma which is derived from person’s own blood or a ready packed cocktail for the specific indication.
We are advocates of at home use of products such as Minoxidil however although effective in inducing new hair growth in about 12 weeks time (provided that it is used as prescribed on daily basis), once the treatment is stopped, the new hair fall may occur.
The above mentioned therapies will only be effective for those who suffer from temporary hair loss. Hereditary hair loss or trauma related hair loss will not respond to such therapies. In these cases, the only option is to seek a hair transplant treatment. Currently 95% of all of our cases of Hair Transplant are done via Direct FUE method which is considered minimally invasive. Compared to the conventional FUT or surgical method, FUE consists of much less recovery time, there is no tissue removal, and chances of any post procedure complications or side effects are minimal.
